Cameron is a middle-aged man who life has slowly slid into chaos. He's recently divorced, his career as an actor is going nowhere, and his teenage daughter thinks he doesn't love her anymore. But when his friend Clovis records him one day on his little camcorder, the tape doesn't reflect his miserable real life -- it instead reflects his ideal life, including his ideal woman who he's never seen before in his life.
This miracle makes Cameron believe his ideal life is right around the corner. But is it?
